The average age of the Greek population is among the highest in the world and is constantly increasing. Combined with rapid technological development, digitization of services, and the alienation of big cities, elderly citizens who do not have the possibility to rely on relatives are left helpless.

At the same time, Greece has the highest youth unemployment rate in the EU. Young people with low levels of education, limited work experience and a lack of basic skills are trapped in unemployment and poverty. This is even more acute in refugee and immigrant populations as their integration and equal treatment in daily matters of survival are often blocked by a wall of discrimination and prejudice.
